Ants can find food day and night and can eat various foods. They can keep food in the stomach until it is full and then distribute it to other members within the nest by regurgitating.

Placing the chemical gel with attractants will attract ants to eat, and with the natural behavior of ants to carry food back to their own nest for others in the nest. The ants that ate the gel will die; therefore, the whole nest will eventually die.
